explanation of 'print no.' column

Can someone explain me what the values of the column 'print no.' mean?
 
When I send and book an invoice the value is 2, when I only print the value is 1 and when I don't do anything the value is 0.
 
Does someone know what de value -1 means? I have a lot of -1 value's before the upgrade from BC18 to BC20.

    By default it is 0 and whenever you print the count will increase by 1.
    -1 is strange number and something is wrong there.
