Filtering embedded table with data from sub-table on top level list

Hi there,

I asked this question a few weeks ago but I think the way I explained the issue was poor so I'm trying to clarify.

I have an embedded table on the serial information card (stock card) and I would like to filter the data from the Stock List. My developer has told me that the embedded "stock component" table cannot be filtered from the stock list and he will need to move all the data into individual fields on the serial information card. The "Stock Component" table was a good solution for us in organizing the data and I was wondering if this really must be done, or if there is an alternate solution. Thanks so much for your insight.

Here is the List View where I want to apply the filters from the embedded table:

Here is the serial Information Card and the embedded component table of which I need to be able to filter from.

You're right to question this — you don’t need to flatten all data into individual fields.

    ✅ Alternate Solution:
You can apply a filter to the embedded subpage using a filtered subpage link in AL. Your developer can define a SubPageLink property in the PagePart on the Serial Information Card to pass a filter from the list-level context.

If your goal is to filter a list page based on values from a sub-table, then you’ll likely need to:

    1. Use FlowFields or a middle table that exposes relevant info for filtering.

    2. Or, define a query/report/page extension to expose combined data with filtering support.

📌 Tell your developer to consider using SubPageLink or build a temporary helper table/query that brings together main and sub-table data — avoids restructuring.
