Dynamics 365 Business Central cloud - How to translate reports into different languages? (like quotes, invoices...)

Hi,

I'm in Cloud, and my question concerns existing reports such as invoice, quote...

I'm able to modifiy the layout of reports with the import/export in RDLC format and Visual Code.

But I don't understand how to add or modify translations for labels (like phone number, column title...)

Please, what is the best practice today?

(I'm just migrated from Nav2017 where translation was "Text Constants" in report)

Thank you for your kind reply,

Seb

    You can try to install the languages packages from AppSource and check of they have necessary translations for the reports you are working with.

    appsource.microsoft.com/.../apps

    If not you will have to create a copy of the report , add the translations needed and then deploy your customization.

    Hi,

    1. Install the languages packages from AppSource

    2. Use Caption property

    Hi, The translation method of report is no different from table and page.

    Hope the following helps.

    XLIFF translation files (Working with Translations)

    Hi, If you mean Microsoft's translation language packs, you can find them in the On-Pre installation package.

    For example,

    C:\Temp\Dynamics.365.BC.45889.W1.DVD 20.5\Applications\BaseApp\Source

    pastedimage1664785950020v1.png

    pastedimage1664786025048v2.png

    You can find the part you want to modify.

    But for other AppSource Extensions, if the Partner does not share translation files (xlf file), we have no way to add translations.

    Because we have no way of knowing the IDs of these fields that need to be translated.

    A workaround is to re-add caption to the fields. But this also doesn't work for all translations.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Thank you for your answers,

    I'm on cloud version of Dynamics 365 BC.

    Here is my procedure:

    - I created a new report based on a existing one (1304 quote)
    - VS installed and translations added to get .xlf file.
    - I created "reportextension" for "Standard Sales - Quote" with labels I need.
    - I built and published but I don't get the labels in the dataset when printing...(printing excel data)

    Here my report extension code :

    reportextension 50100 ReportQuoteExtension extends "Standard Sales - Quote"
    {
         labels
        {
            LabelName = 'Customer_Lbl', Comment = 'Foo', MaxLength = 999, Locked = false;
        }
     }
