Hi everyone,
I’m working on a customization related to BankChequeTable in D365FO.
The requirement is to allow editing of a custom field (e.g., Cheque status after posting) at any time — including when the cheque is already posted/paid/voided.
I’ve tried the following approaches:
Table extension + new field
Form DataSource AllowEdit = Yes
AllowEdit = Yes
Overriding allowEdit() via Form DS extension
allowEdit()
Control extension on the grid field
Creating a child table joined to BankChequeTable
However, the form is a List Page (Toolbar and List pattern) and the grid remains read-only due to document/status locking.
So my questions are:
Is there any supported way to make fields on BankChequeTable editable after posting?
Can List Page grid editability be overridden safely?
Any guidance or real implementation experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your response.
The user does not need to edit any cheque data or financial information after posting.
They only want to add a custom field called “Status after posting” (Enum), which is purely informational.
