Change tracking on data entities - underlying tables in use?

Hello everyone,

I couldn't find a useful thread (there are plenty of them about this topic) so... Why is that I cannot enable Change tracking for Customer payment journal line and Vendor payment journal line data entities?

Error log says "Change tracking cannot be enabled or disabled on the specified data entity as the underlying tables are currently in use". See picture:

I don't know where to look. I disabled all the data projects that use those two entities I could find, what can I do more to enable Change tracking?

Hi

Do you see this error at any time of the day? Have you tried to activate CT outside of business hours? I saw a different error (on earlier PU) that CT can't be enabled because of the table in use. Usually, it's because CT activation requires to lock table\tables behind the entity and if the table is in transaction activation waits for a certain time and gets aborted.

After refreshing the staging table also we are facing same issue

Hi guys,

if someone is still facing this issue:

I notice that the error occurs clicking on "Enable entire entity" if entity has only one table in its Data Source.

I managed to enable Change Tracking using "Enable primary table" in this case.
