changing the VAT status on VAT Entries from open to closed

Hi,

We started using BC in OCT 2023. We were not set up for MTD at this point as our FC was taken seriously ill. In order to submit our return, it was done via our old system. This means that we now have a lot of open VAT entries in 2023, as BC does not see them as being submitted.

Is there a way to manually CLOSE, the open entries (all 2023) in our VAT Entries list?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to do it manually

Go to Finance > VAT > VAT Entries

Filter the entities and Select the open entries and choose the option to close them. This will mark them as submitted and remove them from the open entries list.
