FRx on Terminal Server question

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by 46,623 Super User 2025 Season 2

I have a client who accesses GP and FRx via terminal services.  When I log in as another TS user via RDP, the FRx log in completes with the correct path to the spec set.  When I log in via RDP using my TS credentials, the path to the spec set is invalid.

I haven't been able to wrap my brain around why the spec set paths would be different, depending on the TS log in credentials, when the log in is on the same TS.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Check out \Users\UserName\AppData\Local\FRx Software\FRx 6.7.   There are some files there that may be pointed to another location.

I had similar issue when we moved the sysdata directory and could not get FRx to find it.   Even after a uninstall and reinstall, it could not find it.   Once these files were removed and reinstall, every thing worked great.

Thanks Warren.  I can't find that path on their TS.  What root folder would it be under?

Here is my full path, you will need to figure out what it would be on their machine based on drives and your user name.

    C:\Users\warren\AppData\Local\FRx Software\FRx 6.7

If you don't have admin rights, then you may not be able to see it.   Also besure that you have show system folders turned on.

    Hi Frank.

Run a search on the system and look for the FRxConfig.xml file.

This is the user file that contains the users Sysdata Path.

You can compare the versions from both users and modify the file,

    Hope this helps

Thanks guys.  I must not have admin rights on this box.  I can't locate either of the files you're referring to.

    I appreciate the help,

    One last thing to try.

When you are logged in FRx - Goto Admin - Organization and click the SYSDATA button.

This will also show you were this version of FRx is hosting it's files.

Compare that the two paths are the same.

If they are not change them directly in FRx.

Very highly recommended to backup the SYSDATA and all subdirectories first.

I have known it to arbitrally erase the specification files.

    Hope this helps you out.
