2021 Wave 2 - Can the prominent underlining of links be switched off?

With the Wave 2 2021 update most links are now underlined very prominently. I am getting lots of feedback from users that this is an unwelcome change and some have compared it to something from the days of Myspace!

Is there anyway this can be turned off or any settings that can control this on a per environment level? I really think this was fine before and don't see why its changed

This "feature" has prevented us from deploying wave 2 to any customer environment because it is so distracting and old-fashioned looking.  Everything else in Wave 2 is awesome but this is holding us back.

    Hi DanNewton,

The situation is indeed as you described, which is by-design in new version.

Maybe you can post your idea to following forum and ask more customers to vote it:

     DanNewton

I connected with the internal product team at MSFT this morning regarding this.  It has been resolved and checked in for the GA release of Wave 2.  We will see the underlining removed!
