Hi All,

I want to understand if there are any know issues with changing the order of tabs on a page and also changing the fields shown under fast tab (show more/less).  Basically we want to change - for example standard purchase order to show certain tabs before others and also show the most frequently used filed on the fast tabs.

thanks

I have the same question (0)

No issues on that. This is up to you change the standard UI behaviours.

I think there are a few considerations when placing fields on a tab - for example if you place a new field using addlast(General) instead of placing after a named field, yiou can be more cetain future updrades will not impact your customisation.  It may not happen often but what if certain tabs are removed or renamed by MS.  So what I'm looking for is few tips making customisations somewhat future proof

    As a general best practice:

    - an app published on AppSource should add custom fields on a dedicated new tab instead of adding fields in a standard tab

    - if this is not possible, add fields as last of the tab (not after or before other fields)

    - please always avoid to move standard fields from extensions

    - removing or renaming a tab in a standard page is a breaking change. Normally it’s rare that this happens, but you should always test your apps with a new release to avoid breaking things. The only way to avoid this is point 1 on this list.
