So I would like to learn how to make my own Visual Studio add-ons for D365FO, but I do not seem to be able to find any documentaion on how to do that.

Does anyone have some usefull links about the subject?

I have the same question (0)

"add-ons for D365FO" could be generic VS add-ons too, if they're usable with F&O, but I guess you mean the special project type "Finance and Operations Developer Tools Addin". Is that correct?

You can find resources about add-on development for Visual Studio (which gives you some useful information), but I doubt you'll find much specific to F&O. There definitely was no documentation when I looked a few years back.

What can help you a lot is reading code of already existing add-ons. Some are open sourced, some can be decompiled to source code.

Yes Martin that is what I am looking for.

Yes I was afraid it was another undocumented area of D365FO, but I was hoping that it was just my googlefu that was not powerfull enough :-)

And yes I have also found some existing code, so I will just have to do it the hard way.

    Hello,

There is not much documentation about that. The best way to accomplish it is to take a look at other created projects.

Here you have a link to a simple add-in I made few months ago:

    github.com/.../iD365FOntTools

Yes it seems looking at other peoples projects might be the only way to do it.

So thanks for the link to your tool, I will spend some time looking at it, and other addins and hope that will help me make my own, and perhaps also document my progress to share with the comunity.
