Hi,

Is anyone aware of how to make the Description box mandatory like below for Project ID? I checked expense management parameters and cant find the option.

This is a standard behavior, you need to make a small customization.

Hi, adding to experts suggestion, once you personalize the page after making required fields as mandatory, you can manage all your views here, (System administration > Setup > Personalization) which actually saves your view every time you login with your user as in If you publish your view there, in your example, you always can see 'Description' field as mandatory when you login with your user.

Also if you wanted to copy the same settings to another user, you can do that using 'Copy users' function as per below screen where the selected user can also see 'Description' field as mandatory.

I'm with Ramit Paul on this one, just make a small customisation, set the field mandatory property to Yes. It's a bulletproof solution.

Hi All,

Thanks for the reply. I have managed to do it via personalisation and then sharing and pinning that personalisation to the entity, however this is not the ideal solution and I have been asked to look into creating a policy.

I have managed to create an expense policy for example based on *Location*, but cant find the field *Description* as a policy.

When I try to create the same policy but based on Description there is no option to select Description from the list. Any ideas how I can get description into the below list to create the policy

Hi,

I could not find the description field in the policies either. If it's possible and if it's an 'easy' (i.e. quick) customisation, I would suggest having the description field added to the policies instead of making the field mandatory like mentioned before.
