A get/change first operation error...

When I create a new user and assign it to all companies and the poweruser security role, I get the following message after logging into a company:

"A get/change first operation on tab "PT_Extender_Menus" failed accessing SQL data".

I click ok, and the company/homepage still loads as normal. The same error message then loads, only with the "PT_Extender_Options" table, then again as I exit GP with "PT_Extender_Triggers".  After this, a final error message comes up that states "Could not run file trigger script".

When viewing the detail of the errors, it states the following (depending on which error message is shown):

[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'zDP_EXT80100F_1', database 'DYNAMICS', schema 'dbo'.

 Here is what I know:

1. This does not happen if I am logged in as sa or DYNSA, which leads me to believe it is a permissions error.

2.  The error occurs on both the server machine and client machines.

3.  The error occurs in both companies loaded in GP.

Here is what I don't know: how to fix it!

Anyone experience this before?  I read that it happened in GP 9 and there was a fix for it, but couldn't find anything related to GP 10.

    Hi Gilbert,

Executing both sp_changedbowner 'DYNSA' and grant.sql (in this order) to your DYNAMICS and COMPANY databases will iron out all sql permission issues.

Let us know how you go!

    Cheers,

    Dencio
