Reminder Due Date Calulation

I see unpreferable behavior on Due Date Calculation of Reminder function. Could you advice me if this is due to just missing of any setup or this is not supported by design?

Reminder Levels on the Reminder Term is set as below:

  1. Due Date Calculation 3D
  2. Due Date Calculation 3D
  3. Due Date Calculation 5D

Now run Create Reminder job without checking Use Header Level option. Then my Reminder looks like this:

Header Reminder Level - 3

Line1 Invoice#00-8 / Line Reminder Level 3

Line2 Invoice#103018 / Line Reminder Level 1

Next this reminder is issued. Then in Reminder/Fin. Charge Entry, the reminder due date for Invoice#103018 is calculated as +5 days instead of 3D. So it seems that the due date calculation uses the Header Reminder Level regardless of Line Reminder Level !!

This is not an ideal behavior. My client would like to calculate Reminder due date based on Line Reminder Level isntead of header (ideally without customization). Do I miss any setup or optionto do so, Or is this by design?

Any advices are highly appreciated!

    Hello,

Yes, indeed this is how BC currently works.

You are not missing any setup.

The Due Date Calculation is used for setting the Due Date in the reminder header.

And the lelvel of the header is used ... at the time when the reminder is created.

Like ... if you only have Invoice #103018 to go into the reminder then the due date of the reminder is calculated with 3D on top of the document date of that reminder.

But as you have #00-8 on level 2 already the due date for the next reminder is calculated based on that ... it gets into level 3 and therefore on creation of the reminder the due date is calculated with 5D

On issuing the reminder the due date of the header is taken into all reminder entries.

There is no extra calculation based on the reminder level of each line.

The best way to get this design changed / enhanced on the long run is to create a suggestion in “ideas”, our product suggestion system, and collect votes for your suggestion from others.

As soon as a suggestion gets a certain number of votes from different customers/partners it will be promoted automatically and then discussed with partners in certain yammer groups.

    Hope this helps

Thank you Dirk for your feedback.

Yes, it would be great if the Due Date Calculation checks Line level optionally depending on the "Use Header Level". Or also it would be good if the Create Reminder batch can be filtered by 'Customer Ledger Entry'.'Last Issued Reminder Level' and multiple reminders can be created per reminder level. (currently the filter can be selectable in the request page but not really working on the calculation.)

I will share those ideas to "ideas" as you suggested.
