The suggestions for fine tuning a search are in this link: docs.microsoft.com/.../ui-enter-criteria-filters
Adding additional symbols to your search helps like when using a search engine. ‘Josh’ for instance means find all records that contain the word and match the case exactly

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean by field groups
You could add some additional fields in the fieldgroup so that you can search based on other fields in the dropdown you see when you click the No.
