Permissions in NAV

Hi,

I am currently trying to set up permissions in NAV 2018 (CU08). I would like to know if there is a way to restrict the access in table data 21 (Customer Ledger Entry) so that each store manager only can see customer ledger entries for their stores (I have a user group called Store manager with several permission sets and a user group for each store with permissions and security filters that I assign to each store manager).

Example: Let's say we have several stores, let's call them S 1, S 2 and S 3. We also have three different store managers, let's call them SM 1, SM 2 and SM 3 (SM 1 have both user group 'S 1' and user group 'Store manager' assigned to it). Is it possible to make sure that SM 1 only can view the Customer Ledger Entries for S 1 and so on? I have tried to use security filters for this purpose but unfortunately, nothing happens.

Best regards,
Eva

Hi, I also vote for security filters feature.
And hopefully the link below will give you some new inspiration if you need to customize it.

    Hi Eva,

Security Filters can become quite complex to implement. However, they are useful for the kind of requirement you have described. See the following documentation for more details about using Security Filters including details about Record Level Security and Security Filter Modes:

How to: Set Security Filters - Dynamics NAV | Microsoft Docs

Record-Level Security - Dynamics NAV | Microsoft Docs

Security Filter Modes - Dynamics NAV | Microsoft Docs

If you suspect that Security Groups are not working properly then I would recommend opening a support ticket with Microsoft via your Solution Provider or Business Central Partner.

You will need something on the CLE table that you can filter against. Either a global / shortcut dimension or something like that.

If you do have that - the security filter should be able to do the job.

Using responsibility centers could also be one way to go.
