Access Behavior in Dynamics

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

If a Parent account is shared with the user, automatically all the child accounts and opportunity created using the parent account are shared with the user. Is there any way to stop this behavior.  Expected Behavior: If parent account is shared, only the parent account should be visible to the user and not the child accounts and opportunity related to that account.

There was one more custom relation between the opportunity and account.  This  relation had the type of behavior as "parent". I changed it to "Referential" and now it works. Thanks a lot Paul.

The security rules does not allow them to see the opportunity and the Account. But when I share the  account, the users gets the access to the opportunity which has this account.

Do the users security rules allow them to see other records other than their own because if so then they will see them.

Did you try changing the relationship behaviour?

    Hello Paul,

For the relationship between account and opportunity, the type of behavior is "Referential" , so everything is cascade none apart from the merge option. Still the opportunity is visible for the user. The OOTB relation "opportunity_parent_account" is used.

Hi, you need to change the entity relationships as by default they will be set to cascade, the same will happen if you assign the Account to a new user as they would want to know all the Opportunities, activities etc. related to that Account.

    Regards

    Paul
