Dear sirs hi. Before starting to post questions about Microsoft Dynamics for F&O that my company uses, can you tell me is Micorsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics for Finance & Operations are the same ERP platforms?
These are different generations of the same ERP system. It used to be called Dynamics AX (Dynamics AX 4.0, Dynamics AX 2009, Dynamics AX 2012), but the latest version is Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. In fact, it's not the current name, because it's been split to things like Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, but people usually call it Finance and Operations (F&O, D365FO) anyway.
Note that there are a huge differences between F&O and older versions. For example, Dynamics AX used a desktop client application, while the client of F&O is a web browser.
Thank you Martin for your reply!
In a word, Ax is an on-preme enterprise software which is maintained by yourself while D365 is a cloud service SaaS which is maintained by Microsoft.
Besides, you can check the following links to get a basic understanding of them:

docs.microsoft.com/.../1-introduction
Not really. They're really different versions - and D365FO can be deployed on-premises as well.
