Steps to Return an Unused Item After Completing a Work Order

We are in the process of implementing the Asset Management module in Dynamics 365 F&O, but we have encountered an issue. When a user requests 10 items from inventory, upon completing the work order, does not use all of the 10 items and needs to return 3 units, the logic requires that the user of the Maintenance module performs the return, but the journal posting for the reception should be done from the Inventory Management/Arrival Registration module. We have applied this process, but it only allows us to record the journal entry in the Inventory management> Journal entries> Item arrival> Item and does not allow us to register the shipment (product recipt). Is there a configuration required to activate the product recipt in ditem returns?
