Effect of sales agreement on projects

Hello,

Appreciate if someone could tell me the impact of sales agreement on projects. When a sales agreement is created, there is a field to specify a project ID which means there is a way to link both. When I consume items in a project (using item journal), my expectation is to see the item price (in project invoice) as per the sales agreement but the same is not happening.

Regards,

Sreehari.

I have the same question (0)

In my opinion , sales agreement will be effective when you create a sales order from project

    Thank you Saurabh.

I just tried creating a sales order from a project that's linked to a sales agreement, but the price on the order is not fetched from sales agreement. Not sure if I missed something.

    Hi Sreehari,

Please see the below steps and confirm that you are using the same ones for creating a new Project Sales Order:

    1. I create a Sales agreement for one project/item - initial price on item is 599, the Sales agreement one is 1000:

    2. I create a Project Sales Order for the above project/item:

As you can see the Price from the Sales Agreement is used.

I believe this is not working for Item journal, as on the Item journal you cannot select the Sales agreement.

In case you are following different steps please provide more details.

    Hi Sreehari,

I think you expect more or something different than what D365FO does.

Consuming items via a project item journal basically just takes the item out of your warehouse and 'consumes' it for your project. This works pretty much the same as it works for inventory adjustment journals.

If you invoice that item consumption then the normal sales price for the item will be taken not the one from the sales agreements.

If you want to work with sales agreements then you need to release them in a project sales order, which consumes the item. This is a different way of processing items and invoicing them but the only way how you can get the sales agreement - price linkage you are looking for.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
