Will customer credit card number be messed up for database server migration

Hi,

We are going to migrate the database server from 1 location to another. I am worried about if credit card number of customer will be messed up due to encryption/decrption. I know user password will be and need to be reset.

Please advise.

    Hi Huan,

    Are you using a third party product for storing credit card information in GP?

    Based on my experience with one third party CC product for GP, I do not believe that the encryption is tied to the SQL Server or any machine--it is based on the encryption keys chosen during configuration.  And as a general design principle, the encryption should never be tied to a specific machine.

    However, you may want to check with the CC software provider to confirm that there will not be any issues, or have them give you guidance on any additional setup required once you migrate to the new server.
