dynamics ax 2012 r3 windows server requirements

Hi Retail experts,

We have AX2012R2CU6 retail running since 2013 arround 50 concurrent users.
The customer wants to upgrade to R3 version.
The AOS and the application(windowsTS) servers are on Windows 2008 server R2 standard SP1
While the DB server on Win2016 standard.
Does AX2012R3 run properly on Win2008 servers..? or we need to upgrade to later version?

The POSs machines have 4GB RAM each is it sufficient for AX2012R3 POS?

In the requirements document from microsoft, it does not mention clearly whether Win2008 server R2 standard SP1 is supported with AX2012R3 or not:

    Hi Rody,

    Per the AX 2012 R3 System Requirements documentation it states:

    However, please note that support for Windows Server 2008 R2 ended on 1/14/2020:

    As far as 4 GB of RAM on the POS machines, I believe this should be sufficient but would recommend running Check Prerequisites on one of the machines with 4 GB of RAM to confirm:
