Record Look-up using a Dialog

I am fairly new to Dialogs so I hope I am using the correct terrminology here.

We have a custom entity called Major Project.  It is selected in the Contact record to show if a Contact is involved in a specific major project.  It is not a mandatory field as not all Contacts are linked to a Major Project.  As a result it is often not filled in.

What I would like to do is to create a Dialog that prompts users to fill it in on a specific trigger or triggers.  What I would like to do is:

1 Run a Dialog on a Contact Record

2 Show the Lookup View window for the Major Projects records (or a similar view)

3 Allow the user to select a Major Project

4 Automatically enter the Major Project in the Contact record

Is this possible, and if so, how?

Many thanks

    Hi Michael,

    you can:

    1. Create a new Dialog on Contact entity: Select Settings voice, Processes voice and click on New

    2. On Lookup entity select Contact from the list

    3. On Category select Dialog

    4. Now Click Ok.

    5. In the steps add a new Page

    6. Select the page and Add a Prompt and Respons Value

    7. Click on Set Properties

    8. Insert all manadtory fields and in the Response Type select "Lookup"

    9. In the reference Entity select the entitiy to reference the Major Project

    10. In the Reference Field select the field "Major Project"

    11. Click ok

    12. On add step select Update record

    13. Click Set Properties and on Field Major Project in the entity, select the field previosly created.

    14.Click save

    15. Activate the Dialog

    16. Test

    Thanks

    A.G.

That worked fine.  Thank you very much.  I do have one additional question.  I want to do the same for running a dialog on a Campaign Response and selecting a Lead (I have created a Related Lead field in the Campaign Response) but I cannot add Lead as a Reference Field.

    Any ideas.

    Hi,

you need to select the entity that contains the related entity, for example you can select marketing and after lead.

Sorry, but I don't understand your reply. I am not sure what you mean by "select marketing".

To summarise what I am trying to do.

1 Run a Dialog on a Campaign Response record

2 Show a window with all the Lead records in the CRM

3 Allow the user to select a Lead

4 Automatically enter the Lead in the Campaign Response record

    Hi,

you wrote "..  but I cannot add Lead as a Reference Field.." This when do you create a Prompt response field in Dialog.

    Correct?

I think I understand what you were telling me now.  I have to set the Reference Entity to Campaign Response and not Lead.  And it works.  Many thanks for your help, and your patience.
