Hi:

I entered a released Sales Order for a Quantity of 2,000 of Production BOM 436917990001, which is shown in the first column below.

Quantity on Hand for this finished good is 0.  Also, its subassemblies and other component items in columns 2 - 5 have very little Quantity on Hand.

So, when I run the Planning Worksheet for Production BOM 436917990001, why does that Worksheet suggest only a Planning Production Order for 436917990001 and no Purchase Orders or Production Orders for the other items?

Also, since the yellow cells and green cells represent separate locations, why does the Planning Worksheet not suggest any Transfer Orders between the two locations?

Too, a subassembly exists in column 2 -- 521011283000 -- and this subassembly has two SKUs.  Each SKU is for either of the two locations.  In the yellow location, this item is considered a component.  In the green location, it's considered a subassembly.

The SKU for the yellow location has been set up to not show it as having a BOM or Routing.  With that in mind, why doesn't the Planning Worksheet generate a Production Order for the green location and a Purchase Order for the yellow location?

Thanks!

John

    Can BC Production do this?
The short answer is: Yes, it can do everything you are thinking it should.

The long answer is: You need some guidance/training on the MRP process and settings to achieve this goal.  Everything you want is very achievable, but there are too many settings to describe them all in a forum response.  I would encourage you to reach out to your Partner of Record for guidance.

    Can BC Production do this?
    Hello John,

For the descried question there are multiple factors might be affecting but verify the Components at Location setting in Manufacturing Setup to ensure subassemblies are planned correctly based on their location roles.

    Can BC Production do this?
    Hi John,

It's difficult to determine based on the information provided, as there are multiple factors involved depending on the filters used and the demand. However, I would suggest thoroughly reviewing the Run Full Planning, MPS, or MRP processes.

    Thanks
    Ramesh
