OK, in order to add that second company to your target DYNAMICS installation, both installations must have the same Account Framework.

Compare the values in the SY003001 and SY00302 tables. The first table tells you how long an account number can be and the maximum number of segments it can have. The second file tells you the maximum number of characters allowed for each segment. Also, the user-defined indexes are also stored here.

The values in these tables must be identical in order to add company B to the Company A DYNAMICS dictionary. If they are not the same, you will need to get a tool called ReFormatter from Corporate Renaissance Group: www.crgroup.com/.../Re-Formatter.aspx

Use this tool to change the Account Framework so that it matches. The individual company formats do not need to be the same, but the overall account framework does.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Royal,

I'm not sure exactly what you want to do. What confused me is the statement "into one dynamics but not companies". I'm going to interpret this as now you have two different dynamics gp installations. One has company A and the other has company B. You want to take company B and have it exist on the same installation as company A. You would be able to launch Dynamics GP once and have access to both companies. If that is what you want to do, then both of your current installations need to have the same Account Framework. Framework is defined in the DYNAMICS database in tables SY003001 and SY00302.

If what you want to do is combine Companies A and B into one company, it's a bit more complicated.

What is it that you are trying to accomplish?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
