Combining APP-V with RDS for Dynamics RMS

Please I need this personal information from you.

We are running MS Dynamics RMS in our environment sitting on three different Terminal Servers (Not Farm) because they point to different Databases? We are planning to consolidate them.

Is it possible to install the RMS applications  on a Single session host while each of them point to their respective databases?

Can App-V with RDS solve this issue?

I will appreciate if you can assist with this information

    Hello,

    I stood up APP-V in our test environment. But i could not sequence the RMS application; It keeps giving this Warning/Error;

    The Sequencer detected a DCOM subsystem. Application components that use DCOM will not work with App-V.

    The DCOM subsystems detected are as follows:

    IDriverT (LocalServiceServiceParameters)

    InstallShield InstallDriver (RunAs)

    Thoroughly test your virtual application package to verify functionality.

    And when i try running the Application from the Sequencer, I get this error too;

    Run time Error 429- Activex component Cant create object.

    Does that mean the Application cannot be Visualize?

    Thanks,

    RMS is a comm object program.  It was created almost 15 years ago, as Quicksell 2000.

    You can virtualize but I have never tried with App-V.  I have an instance running on XP Mode under windows 7,  Also have another running on esxi 2.0 server.

    Also if you managed to virtualize on a single os instance, their are numerous registry settings to change when you change from one database to another.  So this makes consolidating on a single os instance almost impossible.

    As far as the error 429:  This points to an opos driver interface problem.  Suggest doing a repair install of RMS or install 1.8 OPOS CCO from Curtis Monroe.

    Note: RMS installs version 1.5 CCO.

    Hello Boyer,

    I have successfully streamed the RMS app to client's workstation. But unfortunately we cannot point the streamed app to a Database. We keep getting this error ( to connect to this server you must use sql server management studio or sql server management objects) even after installing the SQL Backup Compatibility.

    How can i resolve this please? Is there a way i can point the application to database at the point of sequencing?

    Thanks.
