Hi Community,

Is there any documentation to help me understand what these labels mean in Object Designer for Navision 2018?

What is ActionItem?

What is HomeItem?

What does <Action 1> means?

What is ActivityButtons?

Hi, For question 1,2,4, hope the following helps.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav/how-to--add-actions-to-a-page

    1. In the SubType field, select one of the following SubTypes:

      • NewDocumentItems

Actions that are included under this control are displayed in the New Document group on the Actions tab.

      • ActionItems

Actions that are included under this control are displayed on the Actions tab.

      • RelatedInformation

Actions that are included under this control are displayed on the Navigate tab.

      • Reports

Actions that are included under this control are displayed on the Reports tab.

      • HomeItems

Actions that are included under this control appear in the navigation pane under the Home button. This can only be used on RoleCenter page types. For more information, see Setting Up the Home Button and Home Items.

      • ActivityButtons

This control defines an item in the navigation pane. This can only be used on RoleCenter page types. For more information, see Creating Activity Buttons for the Navigation Pane.

For example, if you want to put your action in the Actions menu, select ActionItems.

For question 3, Those are just names, you can modify them.

For question 5, <....> brackets.....I don't remember much, it seems to be automatically generated by the system.

For question 6, <Controlxxxx>.  In addition to actions on the page, there are also controls, such as fields, factbox, etc.
These are automatically assigned a Control ID when created.

Here is an example in BC.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
