suppose i have table A and has two fields ID , name, and i have form for table A

how can when i use the field ID for Table A in other tables and use it in form i find view details and open the Table A form.

i wanna know how to do it and also how it works for standard EDTs like SalesId , AccountNum for customers and vendors etc..

Hi Omar,

You can create a foreign key relation to the other table with table A. Additionally, FormRef property should be set on table A and should point to the form you created for table A.

A good example will be to follow the table HcmWorker. You can check the table properties of this table. You can then check WorkerSalesResponsible field in SalesTable and see how this field is part of a foreign key relation with HcmWorker.

Following legacy EDTs like SalesId and PurchId won't help you. If look at these EDTs, you will be able to see a node - Relations where a relation with the Main table could be created. This was deprecated in AX 2012. Any new EDT you create won't have this node.

what if the relation between table is normal relation not foreign key so that auto view details will not work ?
