Hi,

I upgraded GP 2013 SP2 to GP2015 R2.  I want to view or open the old ole notes from GP2015.   I do not want to migrate old ole notes to new document management window by migration utility since the old one notes are very huge size.  Kindly let me know is there any way I can view or open ole notes in GP2015.  What is the use OLE object as show in below screen-shot.  Can I use this for view the old ole notes. Is there any setup need to be done.  Kindly help me by providing detailed solutions.

    Noushad,

If you haven't migrated your notes, then you should be able to continue use the OLE Object implementation to attach documents to your various transactions or master records. You only lose those capabilities when you switch your system to use the Document Attach feature. The attachment button drop-down in your picture is only telling you that you have a choice between OLE Objects and Document Attach for that transaction, since you did not complete the migration.

    Hi,

The old ole notes need to be visible as it is and new attachment through new functionality.  But I can find only blank screen when click on OLE object button.  I verified OLE path in dex.ini, it is correct.  Please help me how to find the ole notes.  Since I have old and huge ole notes, it will increase the database if migrate.  I have gone through document that GP2015 R2 not supported ole notes then how we can view the old ole notes.  Kindly help to find solution.

    Regards,

    Noushad
