This Customer Already Exists in Another National Account Relationship

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

The user wants to create a National account but when they enter the customer that is to be the parent, they get the error "This Customer Already Exists in Another National Account Relationship". The account shows as its own parent in the customer card, however, when we try to pull it up to see if there are any children, we get the error and no children are listed below. If the user is merely trying to add children to that National Account, then it should not be giving that error when they try to pull it up.

They have had 5 transactions on the customer so far, which they do not wish to delete. They have several accounts that somehow themselves as their parent. What is the best way to fix this?

Thanks!

Yes. I have the article. However, since it said GP 6 and retired, I decided to confirm since the customer is on GP 2013 and the account actually has history and it is not simply a case of an erroneous error on a new account with no history. Thanks!

After running check links try running this in SSMS.

    SELECT T1.CPRCSTNM,T2.CUSTNMBR,T2.CUSTNAME

    FROM RM00105 T1

    INNER JOIN RM00101 T2 ON T1.CPRCSTNM =T2.CPRCSTNM

    ORDER BY T1.CPRCSTNM

See if this customer ID shows up.

I would try running Check Links on the Customer Master tables.
