Alternate Inventory IDs do not print on the Order Confirmation and Pick List

When printing Sales Order confrmations and Pick Lists, we notice that the Alternate Inventory IDs and descriptions do not print.  The issue appears to be that the SOLINE.ALTIDTYPE field in the the Soline database table is not being populated with the ALTIDTYPE from the the cross reference table (ITEMXREF) for the Alternate ID chosen.  There is logic in the two reports that looks for the ALTIDTYPE and if not present in the SOLINE table, the Alternate ID and description do not print.  Has anyone seen this and know why the ID does not get populated in Soline from ItemXref?

Thanks,  Bob Remick

    Hi Carolyn,

I am workking with the Order Conf and the Pick List, but my laptop is dead at the moment and I can't do a quick check.  As soon as I can get it going (later today), I will update you.  Thanks,

    Bob

Re: Alternate Inventory IDs do not print on the Order Confirmation and Pick List

    Hi Bob,

In my testing on SL 2011 SP1, if I enter the alternate id on the sales order instead of the SL inventory id, the system then populates the Inventory id with the SL inventory id and puts the alternate id in the alternate id field.  When the sales order is entered this way, the alternate id does print on the order confirmation  and the picking list.  The alternate id prints on the Order Confirmation below the SL part number.

I looked at my sales order in the SOline table and the AltIDType is not populated, however, in my tests, the alternate id and description is printing on documents.

Which report are you looking at?

Thanks Carolyn.  I see in my own Sl 2011 system that the report uses the ALTIDTYPE to print the Alternate ID on various reportas, otherwise it stays blank.  I entered the Alternate ID vs. the SL Inventory ID on teh slaes order line and the ALTIDTYPE still does not populate.  What am I missing?  Bob

Re: Alternate Inventory IDs do not print on the Order Confirmation and Pick List

    Bob,

In 7.0 FP1,  you need to enter the Alternate ID into the Inventory ID field when entering the sales order.  The system will then take the alternate id and put it into the Alternate ID field.  It will also populate the Inventory ID field with the SL inventory id.  This will then allow the alternate id to print on the documents.  If you enter the SL inventory id while entering the sales order, the alternate id will not populate and therefore it will not print on the documents.

In SL 2011 SP1, this works a little differently.  If you enter the SL inventory id in the sales order, the system will populate the alternate id field.
