Add Work Breakdown Structure for custom Project Entity in MS CRM 2016

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I have tried adding Work Breakdown Structure in a custom project entity in MS CRM 2016 Online (8.1 version) by adding a navigation link and imitating WBS in PSA Project entity that is available in crm out of box.

However, it does not work and shows an error saying "You need to pass in a valid project Id"

Can anyone help me how to configure/resolve this particular issue?

Can we make custom entity work similarly as out of box Project (PSA) entity?

Is it possible to add WBS in custom entity? if Yes, how?

It would be much helpful if someone can help me overcome this issue.

Thanks,

Rutul

I would be amazed if the WBS is compatible with any custom entities, whether they imitate the Project one or not. It was built specifically for the PSA Project entity and is a heavily customised web resource that contains lots of code.

I would advise you not to proceed down this route.
