Year End Update confusion around 2013 R2, need clarity

Hello,

I get that the year end update for GP 2013 rolls users into GP 2013 R2, but nowhere can I find information about the year end update if we are ALREADY on GP 2013 R2.  In fact, when selecting from available GP versions on every Dynamics GP support web page, R2 is not even a valid choice.

Case in point, there was no choice for R2 when selecting the GP version this post is in reference to.

So the question is simple, for those already on GP 2013 R2, is there still a year end update?  Anybody got a link to it?

    All,

I actually did two things at once and wanted to add the other thing in case it had anything to do with this issue as well.

Microsoft support told me to set the check box under Internet Options -> Advanced -> Security -> "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid".

This also assumes that Microsoft File Transfer is installed.  It allows the file transfer to start automatically, which is the all or nothing as we now know.

    Regards,

    Don

    Kirk,

That worked!  Who would have thought Microsoft IE was not compatible with a Microsoft website.  Per the link you sent, I set my IE to emulate IE 9 (under dev tools), and that did the trick.

Thanks to you and Terry for getting us going on this.  I hope this helps everybody else using IE 11 to access these downloads.

    Regards,

    Don

    Hi Don,

Add  microsoft.com to IE compatibility view. I believe this will resolve your issue.

If that doesn't work there is another workaround posted here community.dynamics.com/.../146510.aspx

Hello All,  Just to follow up with this, I wanted to eliminate my computer as a source of trouble with this download.  I tried from two other computers, one of which is on a completely different network.  The download never starts in all cases.  It appears there is a problem with obtaining the year end update.

    Regards,

    Don

    Terry,

Thanks for the info, now I know what to do, but the link does not work.  I thought it might be a conflict with a browser extension, but I disabled them all and it still does not work.

I tried IE, and Chrome, figuring a Microsoft site would favor IE, but still nothing.  When I click on the link to learn more about File Exchange and how to use it, that seems to be a dead link as well.

Any suggestions, can someone confirm the link works for them?  Does the site require Silverlight or some other MS specific add-on?

    Regards,

    Don

    Hi Don,

This is Terry and I can help you with this question.  I'm sorry for the confusion.

If you are on GP 2013 R2, yes there is still a year end update.  It is the same msp file you install if you are not on GP 2013 R2 as the updates are all inclusive.

Here is the link to the Microsoft Year end page for GP 2013 that contains the year end documentation as well as the MSP file that you can download, KB3006930 which will bring you to version 12.00.1801, if you are on GP 2013 R2 your version is 12.00.1745.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Best regards,

    Terry Heley

I decided to try the provided links on a test server and the resource is not found!  Did the update get pulled?

Thanks guys,  But those links went to the year end update for GP 2013, not GP 2013 R2.   Are you trying to tell me that the same update works for two different versions of GP?

    Regards,

    Don

    Hello Don

Yes, there is a year-end updated for Dynamics GP 2013. I am following up with Thomas regarding the download link on this post GP2013 R2 rolled into year-end?
