Blanket PO

We are testing using blanket PO's and I have a question.

How come when I entered a blanket PO and then received part of the PO, it doesn't remove the line that was received off the original PO.

For instance I order 100 parts on original blanket, then received 15 one day, should the 15 be appearing when I print the PO.  I added a new line to this PO for another 15 and thought that would be the only line I see but there are two rows....one for items already received and my new item.  Could this be a timing issue or is this how the blanket PO works?

Can anyone enlighten me on this topic because I am confused and not sure it is working like we thought?  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Note that the PO will retain whatever line items you entered originally, hence the PO document will list what was originally ordered. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to customize this either as you cannot link in the Purchase Receipt Line History table, needed to display this information. As an alternative, you could use VBA to retrieve this data, but your PO report will not be compatible with Web Client.

Thank you for clarifying it for me.

Are there any 3rd party modules that work with GP that may offer better functionality with blanket PO's?  Just curious.

    Barb,

The only folks I know with Blanket PO enhancements are the folks from Willoware (willoware.com/.../bpo). Maybe if you reach out to them and let them know your specific requirements they may be able to assist with your needs. They are good folks and always willing to listen to new ideas.
