Missing clear steps in best practice Sandbox production environments and RibbonWorkbench

I am running against some issues with the Ribbon Workbench in a Sandbox and Production environment of CRM 2016 update 1 (online).

I made a solution in Sandbox with just 1 entity. Opened the RibbonWorkbench in Sandbox and the solution and made the changes. Next step I published the solution. RibbonWorkbenach is only installed in my Sandbox environment.

Now I have to get these changes into production but miss the correct steps for this. Do I have to make a new solution with only the entity, export this solution and import it into production.

What I do not want is forms and other entity fields to be taken over from Sandbox into Production. I only want to take the Ribbon changes over to Production.

Who can help me with the correct steps?

Kind regards, a newy with the RibbonWorkbench

Latest version of CRM allows you to add into solution entities without different components like forms or fields. You can make new solution and add only entity into it. This solution will contain customization that you done with ribbon workbench.  Then you can import this solution to your production.

    Hi Peter

There is no way to take over just the changes made by the Ribbon Workbench, You can only add the entities that have been changed to move them over.

Thanks for this Urly this has worked I excluded the assets of the entity, made it into a unmanaged solution and only the Ribbon changed.

Hello Mark, Urly had it correct. CRM 2016 has the possibility to exclude assets from the solution.
