Customer Journeys are creating Power Automate Flows?

Any idea why customer journeys are creating power automate flows?

We create new journeys weekly and noticed we now have thousands of flows with the same name as the journey.

Below is an example of a journey that created multiple flows. Static one time audience as the trigger and the only other step is to send an email.

Select the frequencyA one-time journey with a static audience

Is this expected and will they delete automatically? Can we turn this off?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

yes this is correct and the expected behaviour.

Customer Insights builds upon the power platform and for the automation part on Power Automate.

So each customer journey will create a new flow in order to process the target audience through your journey. Also keep in mind each new version creates a new flow which explains why each version has its individual statistics.

    Hi,

The behavior you're observing—where Customer Journeys in Dynamics 365 Marketing automatically generate Power Automate flows—is expected when journeys are configured to use real-time marketing features. Each journey execution can create backend flows to manage delivery, timing, and audience processing.

Here are a few key points to consider:

    • These flows are typically system-generated and tied to the execution of the journey. They help manage tasks like email delivery and audience evaluation.

    • If you're seeing multiple flows with identical names, it may be due to repeated publishing or updates to the journey, especially if the audience or timing is re-evaluated.

    • These flows do not delete automatically, but they are usually harmless and managed internally. However, they can clutter your environment over time.

    • Currently, there is no supported way to disable this behavior without affecting the functionality of the journeys. If it's causing performance or management issues, consider raising a support ticket with Microsoft to explore cleanup or optimization options.

    Thanks and best regards,
