Deleting a Line From a Journal Entry

(0) ShareShare

I have a journal entry ready to post, which was generated from a retirement of a fixed asset in the subledger.  I want to delete two lines of the journal entry that do not require an entry in the G/L.  The Delete button in the Transactions Entry window would delete the entire entry.  When I attempt to backspace the account and amount, I receive an error that an amount cannot be $0 and I need to enter an account.  What are the proper steps to take to delete a line in a journal entry?

    Hi,

From the Toolbar hit:  Edit - Delete Row

    Thanks,

I do not have an Edit - Delete Row option.  Is there a set-up screen that displays these options in the toolbar that we would need to adjust?

What version of GP are you using. In the newer versions of GP you highlight the row you want to delete and then right click. You will see the Delete Row option there.

First highlight the row that you want to remove - once you have clicked on the Account Number field - you should be able to click on Edit - then select Delete Row.

You should be able to select each row desired.

Let us know if this works for you.
