Dear all,

I am just wondering if this deploy can works properly in Always On SQL2k14? Any experience about that  would be greatly appreciated!

https://dynamicsperf.codeplex.com/documentation

I've tried to dig for info in the same CodePlex.com site but no success.

Thanks in advance,

You could install the DynamicsPerf DB on the Primary instance and do not make it participate in the AG cluster. Reading index usage statistics and such on the Secondary replica does not make much sense. I do not think DynamicsPerf jobs are prepared to only pull information for writing it in the DB on the non-readonly instance.

If you have a failover, you have other headaches to worry about I am sure, than whatever DynamicsPerf could collect for you.

Alternatively you could install DynamicsPerf to collect details on all AG instances separately, have the jobs in a disabled state, and whenever you fail over the Primary, stop the jobs on the old instance and start it in the new. Most likely you could take automated action for that as well for stopping/starting the jobs using T-SQL, like when starting the SQL instance then a stored procedure is executed which has been created by AX to grant TempDB permissions for the AOS account, on the master system DB.

thanks a lot, it seems reasonable/achievable the second option.

Hi Vilmos, what about to deploy a single DynamicPerf database in a isolated Virtual Machine and from that server, collect data for all my Always On with AX by using linked servers??

does it make sense? I dunno
