Many thanks for your reply on this matter, Alexandra. I do think it would be a useful feature in Dynamics HR and will certainly raise it in the ideas portal.

At the moment there is no security configuration that will allow you to do that without restricting access for performing these actions for other users as well.
I would also suggest putting in place workflows for both leave and absence and also for changing compensation.
Also, if you believe that this would be a useful addition in the system features and other users would benefit from having it, I would highly encourage you to raise an idea in the Ideas portal.
