Share a custom field across data tables

Hi all,

I have created a custom field in the released product table. But I need the same custom field to be visible when I create a new purchase order, is this somehow possible?

Or is custom field ONLY visible in the table you are creating it for, and not across tables?

    Hi MadsLL, Fields are table specific and cannot be shared. You can create same field in Purchase order line or header table (PurchLine table for Purchase order line and PurchTable for Header) and if required you can map the field value from released product to Purchase order table.

    If the requirement is just to display the field, then you can create display method. Please let us know if any queries.

    Hi Mads,

    Custom fields you are creating in the table is accessed within that table only. It cannot be accessed through other tables.

    Hi Mads,

    Is this a custom field that got created as configuration via the client? If you have the requirement to reuse the value on other places, a customization would be the better approach. Then you can create the same field on multiple tables and copy the values or use a display method to show the value.
