New Computer need access to Solom 6.5

Posted on by 115

I have setup the computer have access to 2 servers we have.  Tried to click on Shortcut to Parent on new PC to access Solomon.  Error message needs swimapi.dll.  What needs to be done to run or have access to Solomon on SBS Windows Server 2003.

Thanks.

    Elmer,

Open up the mapped  wrkstn directory in Solomon Folder on server and run the setup.exe this should install the local client.

One of the other things you should run is the VB6 install in the  vba folder just Right-Click on the vba6.msi file and install.

This corrects some issues with screens in SL6.5 in case your client pc does not have vb installed or an older version.

yes.  Those 2 files depends on many other components.  Client install is the correct way to go.

    Dear Nayan Mansinha,

I was trying to create it manually by cop 2 files Shortcut to Parent and Database management.  If I run this client setup will it also create the swimapi.dll in windows system 32.

    Thanks

Did you create the shortcut manually by pointing it to shared n/w drive?  You will need to run client setup program (you will find it in Solomon\wrkstn folder) to properly install and access Solomon.
