How can I add a link to a form where the URL is based on a record's text field?

The last 10 digits of the URL is equal to a specific text field located on each record. But the value of the text field is different for every record so the URL would have to depend on this field.

    One option would be to place a link in the left navigation to a HTML web resource which gets the field value, creates the URL and redirects the page.

    Create a basic HTML page and in the HEAD tag create a script block with these lines:

    var val = window.parent.Xrm.Page.getAttribute("accountnumber").getValue();
window.location = "https://www.google.com?accountb=" + val;

    I can't post a full sample (limitation with the editor on this forum)

    Replace the field name and create URL with the appropriate values.

    Then on the form editor, click navigation on the top, then Insert, then Navigation Link and reference the web resource

    This is exactly what we are also trying to do. I followed your steps but am having some trouble with the HTML/Javascript code.

    var val = window.parent.Xrm.Page.getAttribute("name").getValue();

    returns null for me. I am trying to get the Account name.

    Any tips? Do I need to include javascript libraries or add something special (e.g. a function) to the html?

    I admit I am not a javascript pro.

    Also CRM seems to edit my code even when I upload a html file as the web resource.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Actually it does work, but only when I save the page first. Otherwise it returns null. Any ideas?
