How do I add a marketing list (Leads) to a Customer Journey?

Hello,

I'm trying to send out an email marketing campaign in D365 Marketing.

However, when I try to set up a customer journey to 'activate' the email, I can't seem to set the audience as my marketing list (list of leads).

Is it possible to create a customer journey and send emails to leads?

Thanks

    Hi,

It is impossible to achieve as the Target of a customer journey can only be Contact or Account.

Also, marketing list (except subscription list) cannot be set as the audience of a customer journey.

However, the member type of a subscription list must be Contact.

When try to send a marketing email directly, the only type of the Recipients is Contact.

Please refer to the following documentation to send marketing emails to contacts instead of leads.

Here is a similar issue in which the last answer says “plan to extend this functionality to leads and other entities in the future”.

    Hi

A solution can be to create a dynamic segment with a lookup field to find the attached contacts (to the leads). Then, from your Customer Journey, you just select this segment as a source for the journey.

We did it but our Marketing list was Contacts.
So the segment we created was very very simple.

But it was the only way to do it as, as you have noticed, a marketing list cannot be used in a CJ.

    Hi P,

    Thank you for your answer!

The method you provided is a simple and effective one, but only if what are contained in the Marketing List are contacts.

Customer Journey cannot handle Leads directly, unless a corresponding contact is created for each Lead.

    Best Regards,

It is impossible to do this because only a contact or an account can be the target of the client path. In addition, the marketing list cannot be specified as a customer interaction loop audience. The solution to this problem is to create a dynamic segment with a search field to search for attached contacts. Then in the customer path, you select that segment as the source of the way. Generally, I wouldn't say I like to figure this out. Hence, I turn to the professionals at leadpower.net, who help me attract potential clients. In the same way, they completely solve all marketing duties.
