A valid Exchange rate could not be found error in PO for foreign currency.

Hi All,

I am facing a issue in exchange rate in PO for foreign currency. We have already setup exchange rate value for those currencies with expiration dates.

But When i enter those currency in purchase order and if there is no exchange rate as of the date selected in PO it says " There is no valid exchange rate". Is this how GP behaves expecting exchange rate on daily basis or it should consider the exchange rate within the expiration date range. I've been searching all over for answers but couldn't find out.

Would like some help here guys :)

Regards,

Hello - If you look to the Exchange Table what settings do you have? Administration >> Setup >> System >> Exchange Table.  What is your Rate Frequency, Days to Expire and Search for unexpired rates.

Also are you using any 3rd party products or modified windows?  If so, try disabling these and see if you can replicate the error.

    Hi Andy,

I checked the Exchange table. Rate frequency was none. Then i changed it to weekly, Monthly and tried setting up exchange rate for those frequencies. But still the same error even though the exchange rate falls into those expiration frequency. Only if there is exchange rate for current day then it is accepting. Else the same error.

And our purchase order window is customized. Tried  disabling the customization but still the same result.

    Hi Arunkumar,

Can you please check the content of the DYNAMICS..MC00100 table and see if there is any expired Exchange Rate ID  for your Currency ID ?

Multi-currency is not just made of a single currency ID, but the modules in GP all make use of Exchange Rate ID's that are a combination of various parameters..

    Try something like this :

    SELECT TOP 25 *
    FROM Dynamics..mc00100
    WHERE --exgtblid like 'chf%'
        CURNCYID = 'CAD'
    ORDER BY exchdate DESC

    Hi Arunkumar,

In the same MC Exchange Rate Table setup, do you have the 'Transaction Rate Default' set to 'Exact Date'?  If so, then you will get this message if there is not an exchange rate for the exact date you are using.  If you set this field to the Previous Date or Next date, then it will look past or forward and grab the 'next' date either back or forward.   So you can change this and then test.  So if you use monthly rates, and enter a rate for the 1st of every month, then you can set it to 'previous date' and it will always grab that first rate of the month.  Test with that.

    Hope that helps,

    Cheryl
