Dear Experts,

If i delete old sales tax groups from dax it will effect for example if i created already new sales tax group as VAT is increased from 5% to 15% so if i delete 11 old sales tax group code and new one is already there so there will be any effect on system.

Best Regards,

Shabir Ahmad

    Hi Shabir,

Please make sure that this 'old' group is not assigned as a default value e.g. in customer/vendor master records or elsewhere in your system.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Shabir,

Just make sure you have linked new sales tax group with all vendors/customers so that while posting invoice system should take the new sales tax group % to calculate the tax.

And i suggest you not to delete those 11 old tax groups until tax settlement is done with tax authority and all tax reports are generated. Must notify to business user as well before you do that.

    Hello Shabir Ahmad,

Have you been successful in getting rid of your old tax group?

Is there anything else the community can help you with?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi both experts,

Please check the screen print Sales tax group is assigned to the customer as well as vendor. Please tell me the disadvantages of deleting old sales tax group code.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Shabir Ahmad

    Hi Shabir,

If you have assignments to customers and vendors then you can update those records with the new sales tax group.

This will work fine as long as there are no open transactions, such as invoices that will be paid later on and where you might take for example a discount that triggers a tax correction.

If you have those cases then it is better not to delete the sales tax group but simply leave it in the sales tax group setup form.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    15-Percent-TAX-in-PO.png

    Dear Experts,

Please check  i have already made PO and SO and assign new sales tax 15 percent and then check it it showing 15 percent well. I got this point not to delete old sales tax group code. Ok if i will not assign new sales tax code to vendor maser and customer master so what will be the effect??. Because the old sales tax 5 percent is already there..

    Best Regards,

    Shabir Ahmad

    Hi shabir,

Just to maintain the history, You should not delete old sales tax groups if any transactions are exists with those Groups.

I also suggest you to use From and To date options in the same tax Group to define the new 13 % instead of deleting tax groups.

    For example:

    Tax value: 5% From: 1 Jan 2022 To: 31 Mar 2020

    Tax value: 15% From: 1 April 2020 To: 31 Dec 2020

    Hi Shabir,

there is no big disadvantage of deleting the sales tax group. It is not advisable to delete to maintain the history of tax groups. better to maintain versions to avoid errors if any transaction with old tax group is not settled.

    Hi Shabir Ahmad,

What's the harm of not deleting the old sales tax group?

If it is not used any longer then the safest approach is not doing anything with it.

Most users won't have access to this form and a record in the sales tax group form does not 'eat grass' or consume any other system resources.

So, why do you worry so much if it is not deleted? ;-)

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Hi Dr. Ludwig Reinhard and all,

Thanks for your kind response and suggestions. Ok i am not going to delete sales tax group code in form setup as well as 5% of sales tax code will be there on vendor master and customer master because of many open transactions for customers and vendors.I check sales tax on PO lines and SO lines from Financial drop down button it shows 15% percent thanks a lot.

    Best Regards,

Shabir Ahmad.      I really like to ask questions and clear my concept sorry if some of you minded it.  ;-);-);-)
