A customer has had eConnect 10 sp4 installed and running successfully for some time now. They recently installed Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 and the eConnect component service will no longer start. It issues an unspecified 80004005 error and though the error indicates messages may have been sent to the event log, there is nothing there.
As I say, the eConnect service has been running successfully for some time. Uninstalling Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 allows the eConnect component service to start successfully again. The installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection is the bare minimum, with no additional options installed. Specifically I have made sure that Proactive Threat Protection and Network Threat Protection components are not installed as referenced in a support article on the Symantec site.
So, my question to the community is: Does anyone out there have these two products (eConnect 10 sp4 and Symantec Endpoint Protection 12) installed together and running successfully, and if so did you have to do anything magical to make them do so?
TIA, John
