No costs associated to a posted timesheet

Cost price for one of the user is not pulled through even after timesheets are approved and posted.

Checked her cost price in Projects>Setup>prices>costprice table and this employee does have the cost price.

I've also checked timesheets submitted by other users against the same project, they all have total cost amount in the voucher.

Just for this employee cost price is shown as 0 for all type of projects in hour transactions(Projects>Timesheets>All timesheets>Employee timesheet(posted)>Hour transactions>General tab>costprice/Total cost amount

Please advise

    Hi,

Does AX actually create a timesheet voucher after the timesheet is posted?

Can you see this behavior only for a specific employee or does it affect all?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

In the cost Price table I would look for other cost-lines that could be more detailed than the one line youre looking for at the employee.

Or do you - on the cost line- possibly have e.g. a date in the future, or other which is different than other employees?

On the employee setup, there is a "Use effective labor rate". Is this different than from other employees?

You mentioned there is no "Cost - hour" associated with that worker (resource).

    1. Is there a cost associated with the role this user belongs to?

    2. Is that user employed by another legal entity, impacting where their cost price is picked up?

    Hi Ludwig

Yes, it does every time when a timesheet is approved and posted. I see it for all employees except for one.

I ran atlas timesheet report and that is when I found out no costs are being calculated for that one resource.

    Thanks for your response.

We do not associate costs to roles/positions. When we add a new worker record in the system, we go to Project management tab and add cost price to that worker. This set up works fine for all workers except for one.

    Hi Daxer Perrson

No, I do not tick "Use effective labor rate" in the cost price table. This worker has been set up just like others but just for this one cost price is showing as 0, cost price is effective from October but still, no costs are shown on January timesheets. Thanks

    Hi SowjanyaK,

It is difficult to say why it does not properly work only for one single employee.

Have you already tried comparing the employee's setup with those of others that work fine?

It might be the case that some minor setup or parameter is missing or set differently.

    Can you do this comparison?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks for your speedy response Ludwig.

I think I solved the mystery! This employee has a record in past workers form as she left the organization April last year and she joined our organization again June 2018 and HR issued a new employee ID. So our corporate systems accidentally linked her old record while creating user relations and hence why it did not pick up the cost price. This has been fixed now.

I am waiting for her to submit a timesheet for this week to see the timesheet costs once it gets posted. I will keep you all posted.

    Thanks everyone.
