Hi there

I am an HR specialist, currently trying out a Talent Trial to see if it would fit the needs of our company as an HR system.
We already have the D365 for Sales installed and I know that you can customize in an environment and then update the system for everyone.

I have found a way to 'personalize' a form in Talent. Afterwards I think you can export the XML and then another user can implement this XML file (have not tried this).  Is there any other way to do a customization that implements all users? We are a team of 12 HR specialists and if we have to export every form in an XML file and import it to 11 other users this will be an enormous work.

    Hi Debby

    Talent cannot be customized too much, yet. I'm not sure what you mean by exporting and re-importing XML files, but this is definitively NOT a way to customize Talent. Talent forms accept minimum customization (create a field and that's it), but this field is not sent to CDS (PowerApps) which is used to customize Dyn 365 for Sales.

    Hi Nicu

    When you open personalize the form.  You can click on the three dots to have more options. These options show export (downloads an XML file) and also the possibility to import. So I would assume that this is the possibility to customize the forms.

    If I read your answer correctly (English is not native language) I can customize only field that are not sent to CDS (is this customization visible for everyone if I hide, move or add a field?)

    If I want to connect my data to the CDS I have to embed a Powerapp.

    Hi Debby,

    English is not my native language either, so we could get lost in translation.

    1. You can create new fields in Talent (but these are not sent to CDS - PowerApps) - therefore, you cannot use them in integrations

    2. You can create new fields in CDS (PowerApps) - which is the same customization framework for Dyn365 for Sales. But these are not published /sent to Talent

    3. If you want to capture new data from Talent and use it in integration scenarios or reporting, you can create a Canvas app and embedded it in Talent.

    the discussion is more complex, but that's the bottom line.

    I think I almost got it, thanks!

    Just to be sure that we take the right next steps =>

    Adding fields to forms in Talent only shows this for me because they are not sent to CDS? It seems strange that I add a field to the system, but this is only 'my' field and my collegue does not see this on his form.

    I will discuss with our IT to contact you for a workshop/extra integration help and will keep you posted

    Hi Debby,

    this is something else - if you personalize a form in Talent (CoreHR) is only  your customizations. If you are sys admin for Talent, you need to export your personalizations and import for all users.
