Dears,

Which function could help in below requirements .

e.g.

Cut sizes:

2100mm x 25
1800mm x 14
1200mm x 24
2400mm x 12

Which item in my stock will be optimal for cutting with least waste ?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi MATTGUO

For example , i have an X steel item using product dimensions thickness , width and length .

and i need to cut this item to smaller items also using product thickness, width and length .

Is there any way in dynamics to know how much quantity should i cut from each variant to get the least amount of off cut waste by depending on product dimensions thickness , width and length ?

Like using Algorithm for cutting optimization depend on 1,2,3 or 4 dimensions

Before long time back we had similar requirement for calculating waste for corrugated Box manufacturing actually that's decision not coming through system itself and there are Add Ons  like BLUESTAR PLM  with cad integration will give you results you expecting.

or else you need to build logic with your design.

if I assume you have shape you need to cut and area of that shape is  10cm x 10 cm mean 100 Squre Cm and  then you have paper size A , B , C  then you need to  find out how many shapes can cut from  your paper size . when you deduct sum of shapes area with your each paper size , lets assume for calculation you using 1 Linear Meter from each paper. by that way you can find out what paper size will be utilize its max space with least wastage.

    hope this helps,
