Posting batch older than the last closed year

I have one batch that has the status available in the Master Posting window. Once posted, we get "Batch recovery required". One of our accountants thinks it might be the fact that the entries in the batch are dated 2006 and 2007 while we already have the year 2008 closed.

Can you please let me know what are my options here to solve this issue.

 Thank you

If it were me, I'd delete the batches and transactions since if they were posted, you'd have to go back and restate your financial position for 2006, 2007, and 2008.

However, if you must post them, you'll have to contact MBS Professional Services to get them to re-open 2006 & 2007 for you.  The service is not free.

    1) Which module are those transactions from?

    2) Are the 2006 and 2007 still open?. Do you need to post those transactions and change balances in 2006 and 2007?

    Bledi,

When year 2008 is closed that means your 2006 , 2007 and 2008 Financial Information is perfect their is no descripency  ?

Do you really need those transactions ? if not delete or follow Frank advice to get help of MBS Professional.

    Thanks

    Bledi,

Goto respective series where "Un-wanted" batch with transaction is there ? e.g Transactions-->Financial-->Batches. Select batch you and click on "Delete" button.. !!!

Important-Please keep backup of Production Company Database before deleting batches.

    Thanks

    Sandip
