CRM 2011 Email Router Configuration: Autodiscover Exchange Webservice not works

Good evening everyone.

I created two profiles in Email Router configuration (Ingoing and Outgoing) for one my email address configured for a CRM user.

The strange behaviour here, is that if I directly set the URL of the Exchange Webservice for the two profiles, everything works fine:

If I insetad configure the two profiles to use the Autodiscovery service for Exchange, when I perform the Test for the access, only the Incoming profile pass the test.

In this case, as shown in the imagine below, the test for the Outgoing profile fails with the following error:

Outgoing Status: Failure - Autodiscover could not find the Exchange Web Services URL for the specified mailbox. Verify that the mailbox address and the credentials provided are correct and that Autodiscover is enabled and has been configured correctly.

Anyone can help me in understanding this error and the cause?

I remember that I have already used the Autodiscovery service in the past, with success, so I cannot understand why now I encounter such similar problem.

Thanks for the help!

Daniele

What Access Credentials are you using?

For the Ingoing and Outgoing profiles I use the credentials of my user email account.

I have used these credentials  (same email account) in both the test done: the one with the URL of the Exchange Service and the other one with Autodiscovery.

For that reason, it sounds strange for me that the same account, with of course same credentials, pass the test only if the Exchange Webservice url is configured and not with the Autodiscovery.

    Thanks.

    Hello Daniele,

in my opinion is always a credentials problem... Have you tried to put admin credentials please?

    Hi Marco.

At the moment I set the url of EWS and I have not performed other tests.

Anyway, I don't understand exactly which credentials do you mean:

The credentials for the deployment (to publish) are of an administrator account.

The credentials of the profiles are of a normal user, but I don't think those settings interfere with the auto-discover service. What do you think?

    Daniele,

Did you approve the email used to set email router in CRM  user adminstration? This user has to be a deployment admin and email approved within CRM administration

Following your suggestions, I configured the email also for the user used to configure email router. The results is that auto-discover service works, but only for that user! That means that for the other email account, owned from a "normal user", the auto-discovery service still not work for the "Outgoing" profile.
Basing on your suggestions, I am starting to think that auto-discovery service works only for those email accounts related to users that are "Deployment manager" on the organization. Can you confirm?
